We spend a third of our life in our beds, so they need to be comfortable and beautiful. Bedding has changed so much in the past decades. Gone are the matchy-matchy shiny chintz spreads, fitted straight jackets for the bed that have to be precisely lined up. Now, the emphasis is on comfort, easy elegance, and eclectic layering. When my parents renovated my grandmother's home with a new interior design scheme, I enjoyed teaching them how to let go of the styles of the 1990s and embrace a more relaxed casual style.
