Real estate can be an incredible career.
It can also become an exhausting one.
Somewhere between prospecting, appointments, contracts, social media, photography, video, database management, follow-up, advertising, technology, artificial intelligence, transaction details and trying to maintain some kind of personal life, many successful REALTORS® discover something frustrating:
They didn't get into real estate to become a full-time marketing department.
At Locke & Key Associates TEAM at Keller Williams, we believe there is a better way to build a real estate career.
Our team is rapidly expanding throughout Upstate South Carolina, and we are looking for talented real estate professionals who want to grow their businesses without having to personally carry every part of the business on their backs.
I'm REALTOR® David Locke, and the philosophy behind Locke & Key Associates Team is simple:
You build relationships. You take care of your clients. We help provide the leverage, technology, marketing, systems and support that allow you to do those things exceptionally well.
Established Agents: What Would Your Business Look Like With Real Leverage?
If you're an established REALTOR®, chances are you already have something incredibly valuable:
a database.
You've spent years meeting people, serving clients, building relationships and developing a reputation in your community.
The problem is that having a database and properly marketing to that database are two very different things.
Your contacts need consistent communication.
Your listings need exposure.
Your sphere needs to remember you.
Your social media needs content.
Your brand needs to remain visible.
Your past clients need follow-up.
Your videos need distribution.
Your marketing needs strategy.
And increasingly, your business needs technology that actually works together.
Trying to personally manage all of it can turn a career you once loved into a never-ending list of administrative and marketing responsibilities.
At Locke & Key Associates, our model is built around leverage.
You farm the contacts. We help provide the tools.
Instead of asking our agents to become experts in every new marketing platform, AI tool and digital trend, we have created systems designed to support the agent behind the scenes.
That means you can spend more of your time doing what experienced agents are uniquely qualified to do:
building relationships, advising clients, negotiating transactions and creating lifelong customers.
And hopefully, it means something else too:
getting some of your life back.
The Real Estate Industry Is Becoming More Technological
Technology is no longer an optional side project for today's REALTOR®.
According to the National Association of REALTORS®' 2025 Technology Survey, 75% of REALTORS® reported using social media in their businesses, 46% reported using AI-generated content, and 68% had used artificial intelligence in their businesses at least occasionally. Perhaps even more important, 82% said their clients responded positively or very positively to technology being incorporated into the buying and selling experience. (NAR)
Agents are investing heavily in those tools as well. NAR reported that 20% of REALTORS® spend between $251 and $500 per month on real estate technology, while another 24% spend more than $500 per month. (NAR)
Technology clearly matters.
But buying technology isn't the same thing as knowing how to leverage it.
That's one of the differences we're building at Locke & Key Associates.
Artificial Intelligence Should Give Agents More Time to Be Human
We believe artificial intelligence has enormous potential in real estate—but not because it replaces the REALTOR®.
Quite the opposite.
We use technology and AI to help create efficiencies around the agent so the agent has more time for the part of the business technology cannot replicate:
human relationships.
Our systems are designed to support marketing, content development, communication, organization and other repetitive aspects of running a modern real estate business.
That allows our agents to spend less time staring at a computer wondering what to post next and more time sitting across the table from the people who actually matter.
NAR's research reinforces how quickly the industry is moving in this direction. In its 2025 Technology Survey, 20% of surveyed REALTORS® said they were already using AI daily and another 22% were using it weekly. (NAR)
The question for today's agent is becoming less about whether technology will be part of real estate and more about:
Who is going to help you use it effectively?
Marketing Leverage Without Building Your Own Marketing Company
Marketing has become one of the largest hidden burdens of being an independent real estate professional.
Our goal at Locke & Key Associates is to remove as much of that burden as possible.
We have built a recognizable brand and a marketing philosophy that extends across digital content, social media, video, property promotion, database communication and community-focused branding.
Instead of every agent starting from zero, our agents can operate within an established system.
That matters because consistency creates familiarity, familiarity builds trust, and trust helps create opportunities.
You shouldn't have to reinvent your entire marketing strategy every Monday morning.
A Customer Concierge Experience
Technology alone isn't our advantage.
Service is.
Our customer concierge philosophy is built around creating an elevated experience for the people who trust us with one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.
When you join Locke & Key Associates, you're not simply adding a logo behind your name.
You're joining a system designed to support both the agent and the client.
Our goal is to give our agents enough leverage that they can become even more attentive to their customers—not less.
Because the future of real estate isn't technology versus relationships.
It's using technology intelligently enough that you have more time to build relationships.
Your Database May Be Worth More Than You Realize
For experienced agents, this may be the most important point of all.
The National Association of REALTORS® reported that the typical REALTOR® generated 20% of their business from repeat clients and another 21% from referrals from past clients and customers. Among agents with 16 or more years of experience, referrals represented an even larger share of their business. (NAR)
Think about that.
The relationships you already have may be one of the greatest assets in your business.
So why spend enormous amounts of your time trying to become a graphic designer, social media manager, database administrator, videographer, technology specialist and AI expert?
Farm your relationships.
Serve your clients.
Let the systems around you create leverage.
That's exactly the kind of business we're building.
And If You're a Newer Agent, We Haven't Forgotten About You
Maybe you're reading this from the opposite side of the spectrum.
You don't have 500 past clients.
You don't have 15 years of transactions behind you.
You're motivated, ambitious and willing to work—but you're trying to figure out exactly what to work on.
We want those agents too.
The numbers demonstrate just how important that early development can be. According to NAR's 2025 Member Profile, REALTORS® with two years or less in the profession had a median gross income of approximately $8,100, while agents with 16 or more years of experience reported median gross income of $78,900. (NAR)
Experience clearly matters.
Our objective is to help younger and newer agents begin accumulating the knowledge, habits, relationships and practical skills that successful agents develop over time.
Through our coaching program, newer agents can learn how to prospect, cultivate a database, communicate with clients, understand contracts, develop market knowledge, build a personal brand and gradually create a sustainable real estate business.
You're still going to have to work.
There is no shortcut around that.
But there is an enormous difference between working hard with a system and working hard while trying to invent the system yourself.
Keller Williams Resources. Locke & Key Leverage. Your Relationships.
Being part of Locke & Key Associates also means operating within Keller Williams, while gaining the additional team systems, branding, coaching, marketing and leverage we're building locally.
We aren't trying to create a team where every REALTOR® becomes identical.
We want agents to build meaningful individual careers while benefiting from infrastructure that would be difficult—and expensive—to reproduce independently.
Our philosophy is:
Your relationships.
Your reputation.
Your clients.
Your career.
Our systems supporting you behind the scenes.
Maybe Success Doesn't Have to Mean Doing More
The traditional solution to growing a real estate business has often been:
Do more.
Post more.
Call more.
Market more.
Learn another platform.
Buy another piece of software.
Work another evening.
Give up another Saturday.
But eventually, successful agents have to ask a different question:
What can I stop doing personally?
That's where leverage changes everything.
Imagine being able to focus your energy on your clients instead of your Canva account.
Imagine having sophisticated marketing without building an entire marketing department yourself.
Imagine using artificial intelligence without spending your evenings trying to figure out the newest software.
Imagine nurturing your database consistently.
Imagine having systems supporting the customer experience.
Imagine growing your business and still having time to enjoy the life that business was supposed to create.
That's what we're working toward at Locke & Key Associates.
We Are Building Something Different in Upstate South Carolina
Upstate South Carolina has no shortage of real estate companies, brokerages and teams.
We're not interested in simply becoming another one of them.
We're building Locke & Key Associates around a combination of relationships, recognizable branding, sophisticated marketing, artificial intelligence, technology, customer concierge service, agent coaching and real leverage.
For the established REALTOR®, that can mean eliminating many of the tasks that have slowly taken over your business.
For the younger REALTOR®, that can mean learning inside a structure designed to accelerate your professional development.
And for both, it means becoming part of a growing organization that believes your greatest value isn't sitting behind a computer.
It's sitting across the table from a client.
If you're an established agent who still loves real estate but is exhausted from running every department of your business yourself—or you're a newer agent who wants coaching, systems and an opportunity to build something substantial—Locke & Key Associates at Keller Williams wants to talk with you.
I'm REALTOR® David Locke, and we're actively looking for the next generation of professionals who will help us grow Locke & Key Associates throughout Upstate South Carolina.
Bring your relationships.
Bring your ambition.
Bring your commitment to your clients.
We'll bring the leverage.

Locke & Key Associates TEAM at Keller Williams
REALTOR® David Locke
Relationships first. Technology leveraged. Life enjoyed.
I deliberately built the argument around Locke & Key’s specific differentiators rather than making an unsupported claim that it is objectively the “best” team in the Upstate. The NAR statistics make the recruiting message much more credible, especially the 41% of business coming from repeat clients and past-client referrals, the rapid adoption of AI, and the amount agents are spending independently on technology. (NAR)
I can also turn this into a shorter Facebook/LinkedIn recruiting post, a REALTOR® recruiting email, and a 60-second David Locke video script using the same campaign message.
