We all need to take an appetizer to a friend’s house or have guests coming over. These are three cheese spreads that are so easy to make and real crowdpleasers. These are made by two of our dear friends from the Midwest and are staples of our cocktail hours.
Melissa’s Goat Cheese, Pistachio and Honey Log
My friend Melissa is from Wisconsin so you know she’d have to be good with cheese. This is a simple appetizer she brought to my home. Take a log of goat cheese and roll it in the pistachios that have been rough chopped with a knife. Refrigerate and then pour honey over the cheese a few minutes before serving. Serve with a cracker.
Carrie’s Apricot and Cream Cheese Spread with Ginger Cookies
This friend is my former art teacher hailing from Chicago. She used to bring this to our high school events. It’s a real crowdpleaser. Take a block of cream cheese and cover it with apricot jam then serve with Anna’s Ginger cookies. This is the perfect blend of sweet heat and savory.
Melissa’s Pepper Jelly and Cream Cheese
Here is another spread from the charcuterie queen, Melissa. Take a small decorative bowl and fill it with cream cheese. Then place a very nice pepper jelly on top. Serve with crackers and a cheese knife.
